This census is a good example of how these documents can help further research, or at least give good leads. On the 1860 census with Teman Griffin, two names down, there is a 62 year old woman named Rachel Griffin listed along with several children. Taking this as a clue that Rachel could be Teman's mother, I looked for an 1850 Census with a Rachel Griffin and the matching children's names, just 10 years younger. This census for Hachaliah and Rachel Griffin proved to be that link. It contains the names of the other children and Teman as well, although hard to make out.
