Elizabeth Root, daughter of Ralph and Elizabeth (Staples) Root, was born 25 February 1826

in Ware, Massachusetts. On 28 November 1845, in Willington, Connecticut, she married

Jason Dexter. Their granddaughter, Jennie Florence Dexter, was my father's maternal grandmother.

Thus Elizabeth Root was my 3rd great-grandmother.
