Cortelli Buildings and Homes
Here we are at Cortelli Court, located off Rt 3A in North Plymouth, MA. The building above was the grocery store once owned and
run by Luigi Cortelli, aka Louie Knife. Giovanni, or John as he came to be called on the censuses, worked here with his brother.
The left picture is of 21 Cherry St, Plymouth, where Luigi and Giovanni were living when their father, Celso, came to visit in 1903.
Also, 21 Cherry St is listed in the 1909 City Directory page 58, as the residence of Luigi and John. The full page
of the directory is below with a close up of the Cortelli names underneath it. The above right photo is of the
Plymouth Cordage Company where Elvira Lodi (Nona to us) worked after her arrival in Plymouth in 1906.
There were apartments in the factory area owned by the company and on Nona's Boston Passenger Arrival Document,
the name of the friend she is visiting, Vincenzo Raimondo (Vincent Rimondi)
who is her brother in law, married to Adelia, is listed at living in Cordage Court.

We also got to visit 30 Smith's Lane (below) which Aunt Eva confirmed for me is the house she lived in in Plymouth for at least 6 years.
They lived here in 1920 according to the census for that year. Aunt Eva was 6. Aunt Eva said that Luigi owned the house and after
her father died, in about 1922, he allowed Nona and the kids to continue living there for several more years.
Nona moved the family to Springfield, MA after Nona's sister Adele died about 1928.
